  • We manage behaviour according to each individual child's needs.

Enrolment

Please come in and complete a preliminary enrolment form at anytime.

Preschools are not zoned and parents are able to choose the preschool of their choice. However, at times of high demand, the Coorara priority of access policy is implemented to ensure those who live geographically closest have priority.

The director will contact you towards the end of the term prior to pre entry regarding place availability.

Availability of places is limited by staffing and building size.

Fees

•  $15 per term for pre entry

•  $110 per term for sessional preschool ($90 for early-bird payment)

The above fees include lunch care and are based on the 5 sessions per week.

Fees are due by the end of week 5 each term. GST is not charged on preschool fees. The option to pay via instalments is also available.

Transition to school

As most of the children who attend Coorara Preschool continue on to attend Coorara Primary School, we have developed strong relationships with the school to ensure the transition to school is a positive one.

The transition program for children going to Coorara Primary School is the subject of ongoing evaluation and improvement.

At present, four transition visits occur during the term prior starting school.

More details will be provided to you as your child moves into this phase.

We also have children transitioning to other schools in the area.

Assessment and reporting

Regular feedback on your child's achievement, interests and concerns will be provided both informally throughout the term and in a formal written report in your child's last term at kindergarten.

Health issues and practices

Coorara Preschool has a healthy eating policy. We advise all parents to pack their child fruit for a snack each day, along with a drink bottle filled with water.

Children are also required to wear a hat at all times when outside.

Parent/Caregiver Involvement

The most valuable resource a preschool has are the parents.

Parents are always welcome to spend time at the preschool.

There is a variety of ways in which you can take an active part in maintaining the high standard of service that Coorara Preschool offers.

Our centre is managed by parents and staff, which make up our governing council. This group is responsible for policy making, maintenance, fundraising, social events and financial administration. At present, the governing council meets three times a term (in weeks 2, 5 and 9).

All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings.
